The Kay SL combines all the benefits of the BIRKENSTOCK classics Tokio & Boston in one model. The upper instep strap can be folded back when needed, serving as a heel strap for extra support. The Superlaufsohle is slip-resistant, provides ideal roll-off and is also resistant to oil and grease. In the leather version, its EVA midsole features additional soft footbed cushioning. It permanently and reliably cushions every step - even for sensitive feet. This high degree of flexibility and sure-footedness is particularly important in the medical field. All Superlaufsohle models are tested for slip resistance in accordance with EN ISO 20347:2012.

Special feature: Soft footbed

The soft footbed features a latex foam cushion integrated into the footbed. This means it offers an especially comfortable feel from day one.

Upper: Natural leather

Our natural leather is usually smooth leather, and in some cases nubuck leather. This type of leather has many special properties, such as breathability, adaptation to the shape of the foot and durability.

Insole: Leather footbed lining

The skin-friendly, flexible leather footbed lining gently hugs the foot and adapts to its contours. Its open-pore surface, which is especially breathable, ensures a comfortable foot climate even during intense physical activity.

Footbed material: Cork

Cork is a renewable raw material obtained from the bark of the cork oak. This natural product is heat-insulating and offers excellent cushioning properties.

Outsole: Superlaufsohle

The Superlaufsohle consists of two components: a slip-resistant, oil- and grease-resistant rubber outsole and a shock-absorbing midsole made of lightweight, flexible EVA plastic.
