The Kay SL combines all the benefits of the BIRKENSTOCK classics Tokio & Boston in one model. The upper instep strap can be folded back when needed and then serves as a heel strap for additional support. The Super Grip sole is slip-resistant, rolls smoothly and is also resistant to oil and grease. In the leather version, its EVA midsole features additional soft footbed cushioning. It provides lasting and reliable cushioning with every step - even for sensitive feet. This high level of flexibility and surefootedness is especially valued in the medical field. All Super Grip sole models are tested for slip resistance in accordance with EN ISO 20347:2012.

Special feature: Soft Footbed

The Soft Footbed features a latex foam cushion integrated into the footbed. It therefore provides an especially comfortable feel from the very first day.

Upper: Natural Leather

Our natural leather is usually smooth leather, and in some cases tumbled leather. This type of leather has many special properties, such as breathability, adaptability to the shape of the foot and durability.

Insole: Leather Footbed Lining

The skin-friendly, flexible leather footbed lining gently conforms to the foot and adapts to its contours. The open-pored and therefore particularly breathable surface ensures a pleasant foot climate even during intense physical activity.

Footbed material: Cork

Cork is a renewable raw material obtained from the bark layer of the cork oak. This natural product is heat-insulating and has very good cushioning properties.

Outsole: Super Grip Sole

The Super Grip sole consists of two components: a slip-resistant, oil- and grease-resistant rubber outsole and a shock-absorbing midsole made of lightweight, flexible EVA plastic.
